As a Creative Director at Story Worldwide, Jim led and contributed to campaigns for brands including Lexus, FX Networks, Acura, Popsicle, Bertolli, Holland America Line, and Coupons.com; helping create everything from ambitious social activations and experiential campaigns to large-scale multimedia storytelling initiatives. His work has received industry recognition including Clio and PromaxBDA awards.
Beyond agency work, Jim is perhaps best known as the founder and creative force behind DEFY Wrestling, the critically acclaimed independent wrestling promotion widely credited with helping redefine the modern indie wrestling aesthetic and launching or elevating the careers of talents including Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin, MJF, Brody King, and many others. Under Jim’s creative direction, DEFY became known for its cinematic presentation, deeply loyal audience, and fusion of underground culture, live music energy, and modern wrestling storytelling.
Jim is also the creator and host of Euphomet, the critically acclaimed documentary podcast exploring paranormal encounters and the human stories surrounding them. Praised for its emotional depth and cinematic sound design, Euphomet helped pioneer a more intimate, ethnographic approach to paranormal storytelling and has been featured by major media outlets and podcast platforms.
His work has also included collaborations with SpectreVision, development of original documentary and narrative projects, published comic illustration work including High Strangeness, and the creation of multimedia experiences designed to blur the boundaries between live performance, mythmaking, and audience participation.
Across every medium, Jim’s work tends to orbit the same core idea: creating experiences that make people feel something real, memorable, and communal.
He still enjoys hiking the Pacific Northwest, getting lost in strange bookstores and roadside towns, and critiquing hipster culture from within the comfortable confines of obscure coffee houses. And yes, he was gluten-free before it was cool.
